Rare Diseases International’s Inaugural Aurora Award 2024
The Wilhelm Foundation had the great honor of receiving the Rare Diseases International (RDI) Inaugural Aurora Award 2024.
We are so proud and grateful to be the first recipients of Rare Diseases International’s Aurora Award.
For us in Sweden, the name itself is very special, as “Aurora” means Northern Lights - illuminating our dark skies on long winter nights.
Rare Diseases International (RDI) Inaugural Aurora Award 2024.

RDI's motivation reads as follows:
“After a careful review of all the outstanding finalists and their impressive accomplishments presented on our Mapping Rare platform, we are delighted to announce this year’s winner:
🎉 Congratulations to the Wilhelm Foundation, Helene and Mikk Cederroth, for their inspiring project ‘Uniting Global Minds for Undiagnosed Children at the World's First Undiagnosed Hackathon!’ 🎉
Through their groundbreaking work, they have demonstrated how innovation and collaboration can address real challenges faced by children without a diagnosis and improve the lives of people living with a rare disease. Their efforts are truly remarkable and inspiring.”
A heartfelt thank you, and we look forward to continued collaboration as a proud member of RDI
